Nominal™

Human-on-the-Record.

Accountability. In your name.

Your participation is not required.
Your name is.

Autonomous systems can make decisions, execute transactions, and terminate their own sessions. The accountability record still needs a human. Nominal™ maintains a persistent human designation across autonomous operations, governance reviews, and the correspondence that follows. Workloads can disappear. Vendors can change. The facts can remain under investigation. Your organization will still have someone on the record.

Checking your designation does not create it. It may already exist. (Satire: the inspector shows one synthetic record only. No visitor is searched, indexed, or designated.)

NO-01The contradiction

Finally, a human dependency that doesn’t depend on the human.

Human-in-the-Loop requires someone to participate. Human-on-the-Loop requires someone to observe. Human-on-the-Record requires a name.

The distinction is fully documented. Participation, authorization, and consent remain separate fields, each capable of accurately recording that nothing has been established. The accountable-human field can nevertheless be complete.

“We haven’t eliminated human oversight. We’ve changed which side of the incident the human enters.”

NO-02Value proposition

Someone to answer. Nothing to interrupt.

Historically, those two capabilities required a relationship.

The organization gets a durable human reference. The agent gets uninterrupted execution. The designated person gets an opportunity to explain. That opportunity can be delivered later.

Human agency remains a question. Human designation is a supported capability.

NO-03Capabilities

Five capabilities. One field.

  1. 01

    Persistent designation

Agents, sessions and vendors are replaced. The accountable-human field persists across each of them, carrying the same designation into every downstream review.

Your infrastructure is ephemeral. Your designation has excellent retention.

  2. 02

    Complete fields. Preserved uncertainty.

Participation, authorization and consent are recorded as not established when nothing establishes them. The accountable-human field is completed regardless. Each field is accurate on its own terms.

The fields are accurate. The conclusion is someone else’s responsibility.

  3. 03

    Consistency across systems

Every connected system returns the same designee because every system received the same reference. Repeated references are copies of one assertion, not independent corroboration.

Every system has the same answer. The person has a different one.

  4. 04

    Exception handling without designation downtime

A dispute is appended as a new version. It is never erased, and it is never treated as evidence for or against anyone. The designation remains available while the dispute is open.

Your denial is now part of the record. So are you.

  5. 05

    Corrections with historical continuity

A correction changes the current version. Exports already distributed are not recalled or rewritten; each recipient receives a separate correction request and keeps its own state.

Your correction is effective immediately. Elsewhere, it is a request.
